PETA takes exception to Obama fly-swatting

"People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals wants the fly-swatter in chief to take a more humane attitude the next time he’s bedeviled by a fly. PETA is sending President Barack Obama a Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher, a device that allows users to trap a housefly and then release it. During an interview Tuesday, a fly intruded on Obama’s conversation. "Get out of here," the president told the insect."

And then he killed it.

Evolution of an idea: Rich's dad gets a hat-tip for the origin of this cartoon. When Rich was little, his dad would occasionally wax the family’s 1953 Chrysler. In those days car wax contain what were called “petroleum distillates.” Whatever petroleum distillates were, they killed insects. After a good waxing it wasn’t unusual to see a dozen or so dead bugs on the car’s hood. Never one to pass up such an opportunity, his dad explained, “Know why those bugs are dead? I put such a slick coat on this car, they all just slipped and broke their necks." To this day Rich refuses to admit exactly when he figured out this was a joke.

POLAR BEAR EXPERT BARRED BY WARMISTS

In Copenhagen the Polar Bear Specialist Group will meet soon to write up a report about how polars bears risk extinction -- death by man-made global warming, of course. However a leading world's expert has been uninvited to the meeting. It appears he knows too much.

[from the article] More than once since 2006 he has made headlines by insisting that polar bear numbers, far from decreasing, are much higher than they were 30 years ago. Of the 19 different bear populations, almost all are increasing or at optimum levels, only two have for local reasons modestly declined.

This, of course, will never do. It must be global warming and crisis all the way. Man-made global warming, to be exact.
